Two of chef Michael Mina’s Oahu restaurants — Mina’s Fish House and Stripsteak — will pair up for a Surf N’ Turf dinner Sept. 19.
The dinner brings Stripsteak chef Jamie Zager from Waikiki to the home turf of Fish House chef Garrick Mendoza in Ko Olina.
The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with signature pupu and cocktails from both restaurants. A five-course meal follows on the restaurant’s outdoor beachfront deck.
The five-course menu centers on a surf selection of grilled shutome (broadbill swordfish) with charred eggplant, roasted chilies, samjang (a Korean chili paste) and basil; and a turf dish of dry-aged New York strip steak, with smoked Maui onion sauce, roasted Hamakua mushrooms, jumbo prawn, zucchini and truffle beef jus.
Fish House is in the Four Seasons Resort Oahu. Cost with wine pairings is $160. For reservations email inga.kaplan@fourseasons.com or call 679-3303.
