During a recent media trip to South Maui, we enjoyed a variety of good eats. Check out the following:
The Restaurant at Hotel Wailea
The Restaurant at Hotel Wailea features seasonal ingredients that are locally sourced from fishers and ranchers, along with panoramic ocean views from its upper lanai seating.
Guests can create their own three-course dinner ($130) with a variety of options for each course. For the first course, choose from heirloom tomato salad, ahi tartare, hamachi crudo and short rib ragout. The main course features options like mahi mahi with mac nut pesto, 30-day aged prime New York, Kona lobster and blackened kanpachi. Finally, choose from desserts like chocolate mousse, panna cotta with blueberry compote and tropical bar (mango, lilikoi and toasted meringue).

Nick’s Fish Market
Located in Fairmont Kea Lani, this upscale eatery offers a seafood-centric menu in a serene setting that’s ideal for catching the sunset. The dishes showcase a combination of Mediterranean and local flavors.
Start with appetizers like lump crab cake ($25), B&B ahi ($30) and Greek Maui Wowie salad with tiger prawns ($20). Popular entrées include fresh island catch piccata (market price) and Moroccan spiced salmon ($45) with “Forbidden” rice, spinach, shiitake mushrooms and avocado relish.
End with social media-worthy desserts like Nick’s crème brûlée ($12) and strawberries panzini ($27). The latter features Ulupalakua Ranch strawberries flambéed tableside with Grand Mariner. They’re served with Hawaiian brown sugar, Devonshire cream and chocolate sauce.

Seascape
Located in Maui Ocean Center, Seascape is known for its scenic views of Maalaea Harbor and sustainable dining experience with locally sourced ingredients. Seascape was the first in Hawaii to be a Platinum Certified “Ocean Friendly Restaurant.”
Popular dishes include kale poke nachos ($20), ulu hummus ($19), I‘a chef’s fish poke bowl (market price), locally sourced fish and chips ($31) and Molokai venison burger ($26).
End with desserts like Mehana malasadas with haupia and chocolate dipping sauces ($11) and Seascape Delight ($12), which features semi-sweet chocolate ganache on a Tahitian crumb crust, coconut glaze, chocolate sauce and strawberry and lilikoi coulis.

Manoli’s Pizza Co.
This casual, open-air restaurant is known for its family-style pizzas and Greek appetizers with scenic views of the Wailea Blue Golf Course. Popular appetizers include shrimp “scampi style” ($16), homemade meatballs ($13) and Plack salad ($16) with organic chicken, feta, eggs, bacon, avocado and tomatoes.
Pizzas are the star of the show with options like shrimp pesto ($30), the “Kozy” ($26) with Italian sausage, goat cheese and artichoke hearts, and Personal Trainer’s Choice ($30). The latter is a delicious combo of free-range chicken, spinach, tomatoes, artichoke hearts, kale, mozzarella, pomodoro sauce, avocado, goat cheese and balsamic drizzle. Insider tip: choose a half-and-half option to try more than one flavor.
Save room for dessert; the Holy Manoli ($14) is to die for. This baked-to-order housemade chocolate chip cookie is topped with ice cream, hot fudge, caramel and Oreo cookie crumbles.
