MIX IT UP AT INTERNATIONAL MARKET PLACE
Mixology Month is underway at the International Market Place, featuring drink discounts, drink debuts, specials on pupu to go with the drinks, a bartenders competition and a girls night.
A wrap-up:
>> All month: Mixologists at seven marketplace restaurants have developed cocktails for the month, to be served with appetizer specials. Items are priced at $5 and $10 each. At Herringbone, for example, Keali‘i Ho is pouring the $5 Gold Dust Woman — cinnamon-infused whiskey with honey syrup and lemon juice.
>> Wednesdays: A Battle of the Bartenders runs from 5 to 6 p.m. weekly starting July 10, in the first-floor Queen’s Court. Two mixologists from the center’s restaurants will square off each Wednesday in a cocktail mix-off. It’s free to watch and taste. The championship takes place July 31.
>> July 26: The Hawaiʻi Food & Wine Festival co-hosts an evening journey through five spots for drinks and pupu. The tour, from 5 to 9 p.m., begins at Saks Fifth Avenue for a glass of sparkling wine, then continues to Eating House 1849, Stripsteak, Flour & Barley and Burger Hale. Tickets are $95 and include gifts from participating retailers (including a beauty treatment from Saks) and a visit anytime that day to Drybar for free hairstyling.
