A five-course dinner paired with 2014 vintage wines will be staged Nov. 10 by Fujioka’s Wine Times at Le Bistro, with master sommelier Patrick Okubo explaining the pairings.
The Bichot Burgundy dinner will include escargot de Bourgogne, pan-roasted sea bass with shimeji mushrooms, caramelized Kurobuta pork chop with cipollini onion and slow-cooked red wine, and peppercorn short ribs. A caramelized apple tart will cap off the meal.

Winemakers coming to Vino
Vino Italian Tapas and Wine Bar is hosting a pair of dinners featuring winemakers that master sommelier Chuck Furuya counts as among his favorites:
>> Friday: Mia Klein of Selene in Napa Valley, Calif., will showcase her 2013 Hyde Vineyard sauvignon blanc, 2006 Chesler cabernet franc and 2005 Napa Valley cabernet sauvignon; 6 p.m., $93.
>> Sunday: Gary Burk of Costa de Oro winery in Santa Maria, Calif., will pour his 2013 chardonnay Santa Barbara, Gold Coast Vineyard chardonnay and a pinot noir; 5:30 p.m., $82.
Vino chef Keith Endo will serve four-course meals matched to the wines.

Steakhouse pours Melville wines
Chad Melville of the Santa Barbara, Calif., Melville Winery brings his wines to d.k Steak House for a dinner at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Featured will be four Melville wines: 2013 “Vernas” Viognier, 2012 Santa Rita Hills pinot noir, 2013 “Verna’s” syrah and 2014 “Donna” syrah.
Chef Albert Balbas’ menu centers on an entree of strip loin with roasted root vegetables, braised fennel and green peppercorn jus.
