Kinda a silly question. Every area will have its healthy people and not so healthy people. Frankly I have no way of knowing if our healthy people are far ahead of our unhealthy people. I believe we rank towards the top primarily because we don’t have the pollution the mainland does and our youth is pretty active with surfing and soccer. But the healthiest?

I worked in an office which conducted studies on employment and other related issues. A research statistician, analyzing Hawaii, the census, and other sources of data, stated that Hawaii had positive health statistics for one major reason. Oriental women tend to live long lives here in Hawaii and in their countries of origin such as Japan, China, and Korea. The statistician pointed out that women plantation workers tended to eat well, work hard, seldom over-ate, and had few bad habits (such drinking excessively and smoking). She pointed out that in the long run Hawaii will fall to the median, as these women form a smaller part of the population.

Certainly not politically! Our natural history is shamefully undervalued and depleted. And yes we have grate air when the volcano is not belching and clean water after the pesticides have been removed. Eroding shorelines and idiotic traffic. The quality of life indicators suggest that we are trending down in quality and up in taxes. Remember to vote!!!

Try living in the cold mainland for a few years and I bet you’d agree with this study.

Nice to hear Hawaii is the healthiest state.
However, as other indicators have shown, we may not be all that healthy. Makes me wonder about the rest of the country.
