Peter Boylan

Peter Boylan is a staff writer at the Honolulu Star-Advertiser. Boylan is a 1997 graduate of Iolani School who earned his B.A. in English from the University of Iowa and a Master of Business Administration from the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaii.  He worked as an intern in Knight Ridder Newspaper’s Washington, D.C. bureau before covering municipal government in Shawnee and Merriam, Kansas for The Kansas City Star.  Boylan covered crime, government and other duties as assigned at The Honolulu Advertiser before working as a staff member for a U.S. Senator and a U.S. Representative in Washington, D.C., and Hawaii.  Following work for the Honolulu City Council and the energy sector, Boylan started covering crime for the Honolulu Star-Advertiser in April 2021.
