Highway Inn keeps it moving in Waipahu

Highway Inn Waipahu closed its Leoku Street location and relocated to a new site on Moloalo Street, near an upcoming rail transit station.

                                The hostess stand at the new restaurant was built out of a butcher block from the old one. Bobby Toguchi, below left, retired owner, and his daughters — Monica, center, who now runs the business, and Regina Toguchi — recalled the many blocks of aku and bundles of laulau prepared on the block. Also carried over is the “Please Come Again” sign. Bobby Toguchi said both were left behind by the previous Leoku occupant, Bill’s Fish and Chips.
