Benihana of Tokyo has reinvented itself in Hawaii as Rocky Steak Teppan Restaurant under the guidance of Keiko Ono Aoki, widow of Benihana founder Rocky Aoki.
The teppan showmanship is still in place, but along with the name change comes a menu update in keeping with local dining trends.
New dishes include a shrimp tempura loco moco, as well as a ramen loco loco with noodles replacing rice, and kim chee topping the customary beef patty and egg.
Kamaaina receive 10 percent off lunch and dinner at the restaurant in the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Call 955-5955.
