Thirty-two students from University of Hawaii’s Shidler College of Business Master’s of Business Administration for Executives in Vietnam (VEMBA) received their diplomas at two commencement ceremonies near their respective campuses in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Speakers included VEMBA Program Director Tung Bui, Shidler Dean Vance Roley, Prospect Company Ltd. President Curtis Freeze and a representative from the U.S. Consulate General’s office.
“With the graduation of its 10th class in Ho Chi Minh City and 16th in Hanoi, the VEMBA program continues to address the needs of the national economy,” Bui said.
Since its establishment in 2001, VEMBA has played a major role in educating and preparing future business, community and government leaders. VEMBA is taught by Shidler faculty and is the only M.B.A. program in Vietnam that is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International).
Ritz cracker products recalled
Snack food company Mondelez International recalled some of its Ritz cracker products Saturday after a whey powder supplier identified a potential salmonella risk.
As of Monday afternoon there had been no reports of illnesses connected to the products, a Mondelez spokeswoman said. The recall was limited to the United States, including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, according to a news release Saturday. It was “being conducted with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration,” the release said.
“We are taking this step as a voluntary, precautionary measure,” Kimberly Fontes, the spokeswoman, said in an email Monday.
The FDA did not return an email seeking comment Monday.
The recalled products included some of its most popular varieties, including Ritz Bits Cheese, Ritz cheese cracker sandwiches and Ritz bacon cracker sandwiches.
