An episode of “SEARCH Hawaii: Where Food Meets Culture,” won a regional Emmy Award over the weekend from the Northern CaliforniaChapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
Two of its episodes were among finalists in the regional competition, and the one shot primarily on Kauai was selected thewinner.
The show follows waterman and chef Mike Lofaro and Hawaiian cultural ambassador Kainoa Horcajo as they gather ingredients andinspiration for dishes based on the Hawaiian moon calendar.
A new 12-episode season of the show debuted over the weekend. “SEARCH Hawaii” airs at 9 p.m. Saturdays on KHON with encorebroadcasts on the CW network Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m.
