Police say 3 men shot, 1 fatally, in Wahiawa game room

Honolulu police are seeking a male suspect and have opened a second-degree murder investigation after three men were shot, one fatally, in Wahiawa Thursday night.

According to a Honolulu Police Department summary of the incident, just after 9:30 p.m., three men entered an illegal game room at a Wahiawa residence and “an incident occurred within the game room and all three males were shot by another male who fled the area on foot.”

One victim died at the scene and the other two were taken to a hospital in serious condition, according to the police summary. HPD listed two of the ages of the victims as 29 and 22, but did specify if either of them were the man who died.

They did not give an age for a third victim and did not release any immediate information about the male suspect.

Honolulu Emergency Medical Services said paramedics responded at about 9:40 p.m. and treated one man who was in serious condition with gunshot wounds.

A second man, who also had a gunshot wound, was pronounced dead at the scene, EMS said.

An EMS report on the incident did not report treating a third victim.

Police did not released the exact location of the crime but a Honolulu Police Department dispatch listing said officers responded to a homicide call on South Kamehameha Highway in Wahiawa after 9:30 p.m.

Police said the suspect and patrons of the illegal gambling establishment fled before officers arrived.

“Numerous items of evidence are being examined and analyzed, surveillance is being reviewed, and witnesses are being interviewed. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released at a later time,” according to the police report.
