Man, 56, dies in crash with vehicle in Wahiawa
A 56-year-old man has died after he fell and was struck by a moving vehicle while attempting to cross the street this morning in Wahiawa.
According to a police report, the fatal crash happened in the area of Wilikina Drive and Lake View Circle at about 11:05 a.m. today.
Honolulu police said a 46-year-old woman was driving an unidentified vehicle with a 38-year-old female passenger heading southbound on Wilikina Drive.
The 56-year-old man attempted to cross Wilikina Drive outside of a marked crosswalk, police said. As the vehicle drove past the man, he stumbled and fell, crashing into the rear driver side of the moving vehicle, police said.
He was transported in critical condition to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries. His identity was not immediately released.
The two women remained at the scene. They were not injured.

Police said speed, drugs, or alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors of this collision at this time.
This marked the 31st traffic fatality on Oahu this year as compared to 27 at the same time last year.
The investigation is ongoing.
