More than 30 employees of the Honua Ola Bioenergy plant in Pepe‘ekeo and members of ILWU Local 142 participated to protest the Public Utilities Commission’s (PUC) 2-1 majority decision denying Honua Ola’s power purchase agreement with Hawaiian Electric. They were joined by Oahu-based members of ILWU Local 142 and other unions in front of the PUC to rally and sign wave in support of Honua Ola and union jobs.
