Lorraine Busekrus of Kailua sits with her 13 children, including three who are Vietnamese: Joseph, left, front row; Anne Marie, top right; and Maria in the shadow of Busekrus’ shoulder. The three were adopted five months ago in Saigon by her husband, John L. “Jack” Busekrus, a civil engineer on a project for the Navy. “The Vietnamese children have fitted into our family easily,” Mrs. Busekrus said. They range in age from 5 to 7 but all are enrolled in kindergarten at Enchanted Lake Elementary School because they spoke no English when they arrived.
