Big Island police ID electrocution victim, seek witnesses
The Hawaii Police Department has identified a woman who died in a Tuesday electrocution accident as 58-year-old Cindy Lehuanani Gonsalves-Pascual of Pahoa.
Gonsalves-Pascual was electrocuted in the Hawaiian Shores subdivision in Pahoa after power lines fell on a parked vehicle she was in with a 58-year-old man who sustained minor injuries.
Police said part of a tree had fallen onto the power lines, which came into contact with the roof of the vehicle Gonsalves-Pascual was in.
The man got out of the vehicle through a rear window and tailgate, and Gonsalves-Pascual did the same but touched a galvanized fence while she was still in contact with the vehicle.
