Linda Ann Hai Clark to fill state House seat representing Maui
Linda Ann Ha‘i Clark — an independent process server for the Child Support Enforcement Agency and president of the Kaupo Community Association — has been appointed by Gov. David Ige to represent Maui County in the state House.
Clark replaces former state Rep. Lynn DeCoite, whom Ige appointed in June to fill the vacant Maui Senate seat created when Kalani English retired for COVID-19-related health reasons.
Clark will represent Maui, Kahoolawe, Lanai, Molokai and Molokini.
Ige’s office said she previously worked as an administrator, office manager and clerical worker for Alternatives to Violence, First Hawaiian Bank and Maui Windows and Doors. She was also the owner/operator of Kupono and Friends Day Care Center from 1996 to 2003 and has served on the Hana Advisory Committee and as a leader for 4H Maui.
Clark was raised on a cattle ranch and is a married mother of four grown children and grandmother of three.
“I am extremely grateful for the appointment,” she said in a statement released by Ige’s office. “I’d like to thank Gov. Ige for entrusting me. I’d also like to thank Sen. Lynn DeCoite and outgoing Sen. Kalani English for their years of service. I look forward to meeting my constituents as soon as possible.”
