Honolulu Fire Department responds to fire in Campbell Industrial Park
The Honolulu Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire that occurred at a Campbell Industrial Park business that salvages and scraps vehicles.
The first call came in at 10:56 a.m. of smoke visible at 91-0174 Olai St., which is an open lot that belongs to Izzy-Tows-It, HFD said in an email. However, a person answering a number for that business declined to comment.
Ten units, including a HazMat unit, staffed with 36 personnel, responded.
The first unit arrived at 11:03 a.m. and found smoke and flames coming from two of three shipping containers on the lot.
No injuries were reported, HFD said.
The HazMat unit made sure motor oils and other potentially toxic materials inside the containers were absorbed or contained.
