The Hawaii Institute for Public Affairs (HIPA) has announced the appointment of Ben Trevino as the organization’s new president and CEO. Trevino replaces Jeanne Schultz Afuvai, who will remain on the HIPA board and transition into the role of project director, overseeing the Hawaii 2.0 resilience initiative. Trevino previously served as sustainability planner at the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation. He was the founding president and chief operating officer of Bikeshare Hawaii. Prior to that, he was with the University of Hawaii Economic Research Organization, where he was the architect of the UHERO Dashboard Project.
