Hawaii County has spent more than $4.65 million on police overtime in connection with the Thirty Meter Telescope standoff at Mauna Kea.

                                Police previously said that officers were ticketing passing motorists on Daniel K. Inouye Highway for the safety of 
motorists and pedestrians. But Hawaii County Council Chairman Aaron Chung said, “Basically, they’re giving all of these tickets, and I don’t see any progress, so I don’t know what they’re up there for.” At left, law
