21-year-old man stabbed following Makiki altercation

Police are looking for a male suspect in connection with a stabbing in Makiki around 5:20 Sunday morning.

The city says one of its ambulance crews responded to the outside of the First Hawaiian Bank Makiki Branch at the corner of Beretania and Pensacola streets. The crew treated and transported a 21-year-old man to a trauma hospital in serious condition with a stab wound to his back, suffered during an altercation and caused by an unknown weapon.

Police have classified the case as an assault.
