Hawaii job seekers and employers connected Wednesday at the Honolulu Star-Advertiser’s Career Expo 2019 sponsored by ALTRES Staffing and Monster.com.

The event was held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center Exhibition Hall.

ON THE MOVE

District 49 Hawaii Toastmasters immediate past and current district directors have awarded the following two members:
>> Jicky Ferrer, distinguished Toastmaster for six years, has been named by Kenn Nishihira, immediate past district director, as the “District 49 Toastmaster of the Year for 2018-2019.” Ferrer is an area director and a member of Paradise Hawaii and Catalyst clubs. He recently retired from the Defense Intelligence Agency.
>> Distinguished Toastmaster Sherry Imamura-Ryan was awarded the “District 49 Toastmasters Program Quality Director Appreciation Award for 2018-2019” by John
Coleman, the current district director and past program quality director of District 49
Hawaii Toastmasters. A Toastmaster member for 19 years, Imamura-Ryan is a
member of Pineapple Country, Catalyst, Mililani and Kamehameha clubs. She retired
from the U.S. Department of Labor after 37 years.
