Mariposa restaurant has come up with two new ways to enjoy a leisurely summer afternoon.
The first is afternoon tea offered from 2 to 4 p.m. daily with 24-hour notice. For $35, tea lovers can choose from a selection of Dammann Freres teas from Paris, to accompany sandwiches of egg salad and curried chicken salad; savory bites of smoked salmon with herb cream cheese and cucumber on a crostini; mini spinach, mushroom and Parmesan quiche; and a crab salad croissant. There’s also a sweet selection of scones, lemon madeleines, tea cakes, macarons and chocolates.
Then comes happy hour, from 3 to 6 p.m. daily except Fridays, when hours are 3 to 5 p.m.
Featured happy hour wines are $8 and Primo and Coors Light beers are $4. Other drink specials are Svedka vodka martinis at $8 and a Herradura Reposado tequila classic margarita on the rocks, $8.
A la carte bites include a petite loco moco of grass-fed wagyu with Hamakua mushroom truffle gravy ($8), grilled salmon tacos ($10), pork belly sliders ($10) and a charcuterie platter of meat, cheese, spiced pecans, Maui Fruit Jewels and lavash ($10).
Mariposa is on the third floor of Neiman Marcus at Ala Moana Center.
