Hawai‘i Hotel & Restaurant Show to open
The inaugural Hawai‘i Hotel & Restaurant Show, which will feature the latest in lodging, hospitality and food service, is set for Wednesday and Thursday at the Hawai‘i Convention Center.
It is sponsored by the Honolulu Star-Advertiser and will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
“Our first show will feature such notable brands as Enterprise Rent A Car, Samsung and Hawaiian Electric Company alongside suppliers from across the Islands and beyond,” Mufi Hannemann, president and CEO of the Hawai‘i Lodging & Tourism Association, said in a statement. “Attendees will experience live demonstrations and new trends at the Technology & New Products Pavilion — from cyber security to sustainability and social media to food & beverage.”
The Star-Advertiser, which is adding this event to its annual lineup of exposition and fair products, will be able to use “valuable experience to provide professionals with the knowledge they need to compete locally, nationally and internationally,” according to Dennis Francis, president and publisher of the Star-Advertiser.
“The Hawai‘i Hotel & Restaurant Show is an all-inclusive resource that brings the best of Hawai‘i and the Pacific Rim together,” Francis said. “We are also pleased to announce that a portion of the event proceeds will go to HLTA and HRA (Hawai‘i Restaurant Association) student scholarship funds.”
Hawaiian Electric Co. is sponsoring free parking for the first 600 vehicles at the convention center. Afterward a discounted rate of $8 applies. Complimentary trolley shuttle service is also available between selected Waikiki hotels and the convention center courtesy of Waikiki Trolley.
