Taking a break from the usual chocolate candy eggs or cupcakes frosted with yellow chicks, we found a couple of Easter treats that aren’t drenched in pastels, yet meet the requirements for adorable.
GREAT HARVEST BREAD CO.
Honey Bunnies will be hopping back to the Kahala Bakery from Tuesday to April 20 in big and small rabbit-shaped loaves of honey whole wheat bread, with raisins dotting their eyes and noses. Prepaid orders must be made two days in advance. The rabbits can also be requested in a cinnamon chip flavor, though owner Patrick Brady warns, “it looks like they have measles.”
Kids in particular think the Honey Bunnies are really cute lying side by side, and like to imagine them as a mother and child, said Brady. Throw in a few Easter decorations, and it becomes the perfect centerpiece for the dinner table.
>> Details: The big one weighs about 2 pounds, 3 ounces, and sells for $19.10; the small one, 18 ounces for $13.37. Order by phone, in person, or at greatharvest.com.
>> Also: Order hot cross buns (filled with raisins, cranberries, cinnamon and nutmeg) from April 18 to 20, available in packages of six for $8.35.
