Celebrate your love of Japanese anime (cartoons), manga (comics) and pop culture at Kawaii Kon — April 5-7 at the Hawai‘i Convention Center — as organizers celebrate you.
“Over the years we have heard numerous stories of fans, both kids and adults, who felt truly themselves at Kawaii Kon,” said convention organizer Faisal Ahmed. “We pride ourselves in offering a safe and fun environment for fans to be fans and meet others in the same fandom.”
The annual event features a video and tabletop gaming area, Artist Alley, Dealer’s Room and more.
“We are most excited to have Japanese hip-hop group m-flo performing Saturday (April 6) night, as well as the additional hours of live music and dancing available throughout the weekend,” Ahmed said. “Our cosplay contest is always a huge hit, too.”
Guests include voice actors from “Overwatch” and “Full Metal Alchemist,” and gothic lolita fashion legend Mana showcasing his Moi-meme-Moitie brand.
“Kawaii Kon also believes in giving back and supporting the local community that has helped to build up the convention for the last 15 years,” Ahmed noted. “So this year we will be donating to the Hawaii Foodbank.”
