Police investigate a murder-suicide at The Tradewinds on Thursday night.

The 65-year-old woman, who was found dead on the grounds of a Waikiki condo Thursday night, was identified by the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office as Candace Yoshida.

Witnesses told police that they heard a 65-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man fighting on the eighth floor of the Tradewinds.

Witnesses also saw the man run into an apartment and lock the door. Others saw him appear to have jumped from the building located at 1720 Ala Moana Boulevard.

The Medical Examiner’s Office has not released a manner and cause of death for Yoshida.

Police have opened a murder investigation.

A property manager of several units at the building said the man was the woman’s boyfriend, and that the woman was in the process of purchasing a unit and renovating it.
