Police continue to search today for the suspect in a shooting in a rural subdivision in Kahaluu that left a 31-year-old woman with head injuries.

Police said a 41-year-old man shot his girlfriend at about 12:50 p.m. Sunday at a residence near the intersection of Waihee Place and Waihee Road. He fled the scene and was seen driving a BMW sedan town-bound on the H-3 freeway shortly afterwards, according to police dispatch communications.

Police said a bullet grazed the woman’s head. An Emergency Medical Services report said paramedics took the woman to a hospital in serious condition.

CrimeStoppers Honolulu identified the suspect as Bronson Gouveia and said he is wanted for investigation of second-degree attempted murder.

Gouveia, who has 22 prior convictions, is known to frequent Waianae and Kaneohe. He was described as 6-feet-1-inch tall, 272 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes, and is considered “armed and dangerous,” CrimeStoppers said.

CrimeStoppers described the vehicle he fled in as a silver 2008 BMW 7-series sedan with a “Murder 187” sticker on the rear passenger window. The car has tinted windows and Hawaii license plates EF134.
