For farm fun, check out the Fall Harvest & Pumpkin Patch, Saturdays and Sundays in October at Waimanalo Country Farms.
“Our family is celebrating 70 years this year of planting good seeds on good ground,” said Shawn Kadooka, whose family owns and operates the farm. “Aunties, uncles, cousins all come down to help out during our fall harvest.”
You can join the family and help them celebrate by spending a day at the farm, where the fun includes games, cow train rides, farm animals to pet and feed and pumpkin-picking, of course.
“You get a personalized history tour of our farm and family on our hayride driven by the farmer himself,” Kadooka added.
The farm also offers “great country grub,” she said, which you can enjoy with Old Fashion Kountry sweet tea or fresh-squeezed Nalo-made lemonade.
“We make everything ourselves,” Kadooka said. “My grandma’s cornbread is a must-try.”
