The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation donated $3 million Wednesday to the Kahauiki Project, an initiative to create an affordable plantation-style community as a long-term housing for homeless families. The Step Taculars, a group of dancers who perform Broadway and jazz tap-style dance, took to the stage at the 34th Annual Hawaii Senior's Fair: The Good Life Expo at the Neal Blaisdell Exhibition Hall Sunday. The performers on stage ranged from 71 years old to 86, and wore costumes created by William Doherty (in white). They have averaged 40 shows a year for 20 years.

Lorelei Financier showed two papio, also known as a bluefin trevally, and her husband, Wayne, was holding a hamachi (yellowtail tuna) that they caught at the bay. They were just loading up their catch and gear after a day of fishing.

There were many fisherman at Waimea Bay on Friday, mostly catching akule, but papio and hamachi were also caught.

Lanikai's crew, front to back, of Manny Kulukulualani, Levi Goeas, Igor Sobreira, Nick Foti, Karel Tresnak Jr. and Cheyne Mench were the fi rst to cross the the finish line in the Henry Ayau Memorial Race from Maunalua Bay to Nanakuli Beach on Sunday. They finished in 3 hours, 21 minutes, 35 seconds. Hui Nalu took second, followed by another Lanikai crew in third place.

A man and his canine companion stretched out on a bus bench Monday while a bus rider, at left, waited at a Beretania Street bus stop. A law passed this year makes it illegal for people to lie down at or near a bus stop except between 1 and 4 a.m.

Photographers taking a workshop on street photography took a lesson on constant lighting, conducted by Scott Robert Lim on Friday in front of the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall during the PhotoCon Hawaii Educational and Informational Trade Event for professional, amateur and enthusiast photographers. The photographers shot a model during the lesson.
