Travel lanes near the top of Kaukonahua Road between Wilikina Drive and Kamananui Road will be closed from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to accommodate filming for the upcoming movie “Midway.”

The closure will not affect the main travelway on Kaukonahua Road that connects to Schofield Barracks and Wahiawa. Special-duty police officers will be onsite to redirect traffic and ensure safety.

The filming was originally scheduled for last week but was delayed due to the approach of Tropical Storm Olivia.

Driving scenes with period cars will be done in the early morning light to re-create the timing of the Dec. 7, 1941, attack on Pearl Harbor, according to a news release from the Honolulu Film Office and the Department of Transportation Service. Stunt sequences will be shot at the location throughout the day.
