Police have initiated an attempted murder investigation involving a 30-year-old man who was attacked by three men in Makaha.

Police said an argument occurred between the suspects and the victim at Makaha Beach Park at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday. The suspects then assaulted the victim with dangerous instruments, causing multiple stab wounds to the victim’s upper body.

The assailants are acquaintances of the victim.

Emergency Medical Services treated and transported him to a hospital.

There are conflicting reports on the victim’s condition. Police said he was in critical condition, while EMS said he was in serious condition.

Police said the assailants fled before officers arrived at the scene. There have been no arrests at this time.
