Tuition rising at Hawaii’s private schools

Punahou has the largest enrollment of any private campus in the islands at 3,750. About 19 percent of students at Punahou receive aid and the grantsaverage nearly half of tuition. The base tuition for the 2018-19 school year is $24,780, up 3.9 percent.

Mid-Pacific Institute is the third priciest school in the state. Tuition will rise by 5 percent to $24,345 in the coming school year.

‘Iolani School’s tuition will reach $23,450 for the coming year, up 4 percent over last year. About a quarter of ‘Iolani students receive financial aid, withan average award of $9,900.
