Lt. Gov. Doug Chin today denounced a United States Supreme Court ruling against a California law requiring faith-based or crisis pregnancy centers to inform patients of contraception service and abortion assistance offered by the state.

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled 5-4 today against the law in National Institute of Family and Life Advocates v. Becerra, considered a win for the pro-life movement.

“All women deserve to be informed and are entitled to make personal reproductive health decisions with complete and accurate information regarding their rights to access the full range of health care services available to them,” said Chin in a statement. “Today’s decision erodes those rights. I will continue to fight for women and their right to be fully informed of their choices.”

The California case mirrors others across the nation, including Calvary Chapel of Pearl Harbor v. Chin, filed last July in the U.S. District Court of Hawaii, said Chin, who served as state attorney general for three years up to Feb. 2.
