Ready to launch? A baby Ezo momonga, a subspecies of the Siberian flying squirrel, peeks out of its tree trunk nest in Obihiro, Japan. The island of Hokkaido is the only place in Japan where Ezo momonga, which are about 6 inches long, can be found. The animal is mainly nocturnal and glides in the night sky by stretching out membranes attached to its limbs.
