After a brief closure due to renovations at the Hawaii State Art Museum, Artizen by MW has reopened with a handful of new menu offerings for breakfast and lunch.
In the morning there is avocado toast ($11) with Ho Farms tomato jam, grilled kale and a sunny side-up egg.
Joining such popular lunch offerings as mochi-
crusted opah ($15) and a bento box ($11) with kalbi, Portuguese sausage, fried fish and Jidori garlic fried chicken, are a pair of kalua pig tacos ($10) with lomi tomato, guacamole and chipotle sauce, a seared ahi plate ($14) and meatball sub ($12).
There’s also a great take on Chinese-style salt-pepper pork chop ($14), this one served with sauteed onions and jalapenos. Fans of the deep-fry will find themselves torn between this dish and one of fried chicken and eggplant ($13) in a light sweet-sour sauce.
Although construction at HiSAM will continue through fall, both museum and restaurant are open.
Artizen by MW is at 250 South Hotel St. from 7:30 a.m., with lunch from 10:30 a.m. to
2:30 p.m. weekdays.
