River Street in Chinatown to close April 16

River Street between Beretania and Hotel streets in Chinatown is scheduled for closure starting next Monday for road repairs, according to city officials.

The work is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. weekdays, weather permitting, and expected to be completed by May 7.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area, if possible, and use alternate routes, plus allow for extra travel time. Signs will be posted, and special duty police officers will assist with traffic control.

For pedestrians, the Ewa sidewalk along River Street will be closed during hours of construction for safety. TheBus routes 19 and 20 will also be detoured around the work zone area during construction.
