Extreme erosion has created a hazardous condition at Sunset Beach on Oahu’s North Shore.

The city is urging the public to stay away from Sunset Beach because of a hazardous condition caused by extreme erosion, a Honolulu Ocean Safety Division spokeswoman said.

Shayne Enright, Ocean Safety spokeswoman, said today a storage room belonging to the division is teetering on the edge of a 20 foot drop because of the erosion.

She said city crews will determine a plan for the structure Monday.
