Kona wells back in operation, but water restriction requested

Two North Kona wells are back up and running after an eight-week water shortage emergency.

Hawaii County announced today that both the Hualalai and Palani wells have been repaired and are now operational.

In accordance, emergency water restrictions have been lifted, the county said.

However, three other wells are still under repair, so residents are asked to cut water use by 25 percent.

For more information, visit the Hawaii County Department of Water Supply website or call 961-8060 during normal business hours.
