Between 2005 to 2015, no public baccalaureate institution in the United States experienced higher growth than the University of Hawaii-West Oahu, according to the Chronicle of Higher Education.
During the span, the school’s student population grew 214 percent, to 2,692 from 858, the most among 87 other public institutions focused on four-year degrees.
According to the publication, the increase was more than 10 times higher than the average growth of peer baccalaureate institutions.
“UH West Oahu is taking bold steps forward to prepare our 21st Century workforce comprised of business innovators and social entrepreneurs, educators, health professionals, farmers and scientists, artists and cultural practitioners, and many more,” said UHWO Chancellor Maenette Benham, in a statement released last week.
