H-1 Freeway reopened following semi-truck crash in Makakilo

All lanes of the H-1 Freeway in the Waianae-bound direction have been reopened following a crash today in Makakilo, police said.

The lanes were reopened about 4 p.m.

At about 1:30 p.m., a tractor trailer crashed near the Makakilo offramp, leaving all but one shoulder lane closed, police said. No critical injuries were reported.

Traffic backed up as emergency responders closed lanes to clean up a fluid spill on the roadway.

At 4:15 p.m., the city’s GoAkamai website showed the driving time from Pali Highway to Makakilo Drive via H-201 was taking 60 minutes. The drive along the airport viaduct was slightly faster at 52 minutes.
