Chef-host Grant Sato welcomes Christian Rae Wong, winner of the King’s Hawaiian Recipe Contest, who prepares a chili using King’s Hawaiian Smoked Bacon BBQ Sauce.
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 small onion, medium diced
- 2 celery stalks, medium diced
- 1 bell pepper, medium diced
- Kernels from 1 cob fresh corn (approximately 1 cup)
- 1 cup zucchini, medium diced
- 3 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 bay leaf
- 8 ounces cooked black beans
- 2 (14-ounce) cans stewed or diced tomatoes
- 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
- 8 ounces King’s Hawaiian Smoked Bacon BBQ Sauce
In a little oil, sear ground beef. Season with salt and pepper.
Add onion, celery, bell pepper, corn and zucchini. Add spices and simmer to cook vegetables.
Add beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce and barbecue sauce. Simmer on low for 1 to 3 hours. Serves 4 to 6.
