An Oahu grand jury returned an indictment for attempted murder in a stabbing last week in Makiki.
The grand jury on Tuesday indicted Ak Yos, 23, on an attempted second-degree murder charge. He is being held at the Oahu Community Correctional Center in lieu of $50,000 bail. Yos is scheduled to be arraigned Monday at Circuit Court.
Shortly before 1 a.m.
May 4, police said, Yos got into an argument with a 36-year-old man, and followed the victim into his Kinau Street apartment through an unlocked door.
The argument escalated when Yos grabbed a 6-inch kitchen knife and stabbed the victim once in the back, according to a court document.
A witness told police that he saw a large group of males — including a man with a knife — running toward Keeaumoku Street.
The victim suffered a punctured lung and was transported to The Queen’s Medical Center in serious condition.
Police located Yos near the intersection of South
Beretania and Keeaumoku streets and arrested him
on suspicion of attempted murder.
