Sex assault suspect charged with kidnapping

A 33-year-old Waipahu man, who had been accused of first-degree sexual assault, was charged Friday with kidnapping.

Jayvan Curioso was arrested at 7:45 a.m. Friday on suspicion of first-degree sexual assault, criminal property damage, first-degree terroristic threatening and choking (abuse/strangulation) of a 34-year-old woman, with whom he had or has a relationship.

Police said the woman reported the man threatened and physically and sexually assaulted her on Tuesday.

Prosecutors charged Curioso with kidnapping, first-degree terroristic threatening and choking (abuse/strangulation), but did not charge him with sexual assault.

Curioso’s bail was set at $150,000 bail.
