Pacific Biodiesel starts farming sunflowers

Kahu Kimokeo Kapahulehua conducted a blessing Friday at the Pacific Biodiesel crop site attended by project stakeholders, farmers, lawmakers and other community members. As part of the ceremony to bless the project, each attendee planted a sunflower seed, at left, on the 115-acre site in Central Maui. Pacific Biodiesel Vice President Kelly King, fourth from right, U.S. Sen. Mazie Hirono, Pacific Biodiesel President Robert King and U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard planted seeds.
