Ewa Beach man accused of taking nude photos of girls pleads not guilty

HONOLULU POLICE DEPARTMENT

Gilbert Sta Ines

An Ewa Beach photographer pleaded not guilty to charges of promoting child abuse after he allegedly took photos of underage girls.

Gilbert Sta Ines, 42, appeared at Circuit Court before Judge Gerald Kibe Monday after an Oahu grand jury recently indicted him on three counts of promoting child abuse in the first degree and two counts of promoting child abuse in the second degree.

His trial is scheduled for the week of Dec. 19.

According to the indictment, he “disseminated child pornography” when he uploaded photos to the internet of the underage girls who were about 15 to 16 years old when the photos were taken.

The offenses occurred between August 2014 and July 2015. The mother of one of the girls was notified of nude photos of her daughter on the internet and reported it to law enforcement.

Police arrested Sta Ines in July 2015 and released him pending further investigation. The grand jury indicted him Oct. 18 and he turned himself into the Sheriff’s Office where he posted $50,000 bail.

If I were him I’d get Hillary as my defender in court. $250K for the defense vs. prison time where he’d be most hated by his cellmate peers.

If he is pleading not guilty he probably has release forms signed by the models that falsify their age. So, you want to be a model? You want to make some real money? Were they held at gun point? What is accepted today was perversion yesterday. It is in the power of whoever creates the laws. The church? Politicians? God?

This crime took place in July 2015 and only now he is charged? Kaneshiro is truly an incompetent Prosecutor with warped priorities. He goes after prostitutes and game room operators with a vengeance but is slow to act against a predator who’s posting nude pics of children on the web or prosecute cops who break the law.
    It’s simply sickening!
