Police release video of theft of laptop computer from bus

Honolulu police released security camera video and images of a suspect in the theft of a MacBook computer from a bus at the Middle Street Transfer Station.
Police released the video on YouTube Thursday and posted a request for help from the public in indentifying the man.
The theft happened at 8:48 a.m. on July 13.
The video shows the man picking up the computer from a seat on the mostly-empty bus and then putting it in a backpack.
The suspect was wearing a T-shirt and athletic pants.
Anyone with information on the man is asked to call police at 529-3111 or CrimeStoppers at 955-8300 or *CRIME on a cellular phone.

July 13? Well, okay.
How can you forget to take your laptop? I guess can, yeah, cuz yesterday I found a cellphone on the ground by the steps at the building by Ala Moana SC. I put it on the wall thinking the owner will back-track his steps. When we left, the phone was still on the wall, so, I turned it in to the security guard that was there.
I’d say he found it…. not stole it. I thought I was going to look at a video of a guy reaching into someone’s bag or something and taking the computer. This is nothing like that….
Agree, that laptop was abandoned by someone so it’s not like it was really STOLEN, he just picked it up following the “finder’s keeper’s” rule. Not saying that it was the right thing to do, he should have turned it in, but I wouldn’t call that stealing more like “finding without trying to find the rightful owner”.
Was that the gift wrapping a box of garbage prank?
