Hawaii County police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two men captured on video in two separate theft cases in Hilo.
About 3:40 p.m. Aug. 4, a man took a purse from a shopping cart before leaving a store on the 300 block of East Makaala Street, police said.
The man might be in his early 20s and is about 6 feet tall and 180 pounds with a thin build, police said. He was wearing denim shorts, a black hat with white leaf designs and a black T-shirt with a yellow graphic on the front.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call officer Christopher Jelsma at 961-2213 or police at 935-3311.
About 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, a man stole an electronic tablet worth $450 from a business on the 200 block of Kekuanaoa Street.
Police ask anyone with information on the man’s identity to call 935-3311 and ask for officer Daniel Kuwabara.
Anonymous tips in either case can be made by calling CrimeStoppers at 961-8300.
