COAST GUARD

The 65-foot Spirit of Kona, a commercial passenger vessel, ran aground on rocks near Kailua-Kona Kukaili­moku lighthouse after it apparently broke free of its mooring in Kailua Bay as Tropical Storm Darby passed over the region early Sunday. No one was aboard the vessel at the time of the incident.

Two automobiles were partially submerged in floodwater on the Ewa-bound H-1 as heavy rain fell in the wake of Tropical Storm Darby on Sunday. Traffic was snarled for miles and redirected up the School Street onramp.
