I have two favorites. I am almost 80 years old and have used both of these items for over 50 years:

The nutmeg grater is so great. One jar of whole nutmegs should last you for years and years. The fresh ground nutmeg is amazing and nothing like the pre-ground type that you buy in the market in the spice department.

The second item, which I use nearly every day, is my zester. This is great for lemons, oranges, limes. Just a scrape or two adds so much flavor to everything.
