Fire destroys abandoned home on Big Isle
Big Island firefighters were unable to save an abandoned home in Kau that was destroyed by fire Thursday evening.
The fire was reported at 5:14 p.m. on Mission Road in Waiohinu and was brought under control at 6:05 p.m.
The wooden structure with an iron roof collapsed due to damage sustained in the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
